The student council investigation committee did not find the truth of the rape against NoorFormer Vice President Nurul Haque Nur

Dhaka: On September 21, a Dhaka University student filed a case against Hasan Al Mamun, the organizer of the Student Rights Protection Council, alleging rape. Former University Vice President Nurul Haque Nur and four others were charged with complicity in the case.

The Council for the Protection of Student Rights formed a three-member investigative committee into the incident.

The report released by the investigation committee on Sunday (October 11) said that the accusation that Hassan al-Mamun had “sexually assaulted the girl” was not true. However, the student on hunger strike has demanded the arrest of the rapists.

The investigation committee said in its report: “Although the whistleblower mentioned his love affair with Hassan Al Mamun in the statement, Hassan Al Mamun denied it. They are known as students from the same department, not in terms of organizational work. The committee of The investigation found no evidence as to whether there were any incidents of physical relationship showing the temptation of marriage.
Even the complainant was unable to provide any information to the investigation committee. The report indicates that the complainant student never met Nurul Haque Noor, former vice president of Daksh. He also said that the accusations against the defendants in the case “appeared to be false and without foundation.”

Earlier, on September 20 and 21, a Dhaka University student filed two separate cases against Hasan Al Mamun, coordinator of the General Council for Student Rights, and Nurul Haque Nur, former vice president of Daksh, and four others. In this context, on September 23, the organization formed a three-member investigative committee headed by Bin Yamin Mollah, president of the organization’s DU branch.

The Dhaka University student has rejected the research committee’s report saying it is not neutral. He said: ‘The head of the investigative committee of the Student Rights Council has been Yamin bin Mollah. He was the one who organized the protest, calling the accusation a lie and conspiracy by the government. He is not impartial, as he was later appointed head of the investigation committee. From then on, I think it is not an impartial investigation.
