Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, who is in treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, is in critical condition due to the coronavirus. Family sources said his lungs had not been working since Monday morning.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam was admitted to CMH Hospital on September 4 with a fever and a sore throat. If the corona test is done the same day, the report is positive. He was transferred to the ICU last Saturday after his physical condition deteriorated. The next day, on Sunday, Mahbubey Alam’s wife, Binta Mahbub, told reporters: “Mahbubey Alam’s report in the sample test showed ‘negative corona.’
Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister and the people for the recovery of Mahbubey Alam, he added that the Prime Minister is always looking for Mahbubey Alam. Again he asked the people to pray for his recovery.
Mahbubey Alam, 61, has been Attorney General since 2009. The former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association joined the law in the High Court in 1985.
