RAB-14 has arrested five people, including the main defendant in the Ishwarganj murder case in Mymensingh. They were arrested after conducting raids at different locations in Ishwarganj upazila on Wednesday night.
The detainees are: Delete Parvez’s mother. Rozina Akhter (32), the main defendant Emdadul Haque (38) from the village of Maricharchar, Maryland, from the same village. Gani (45), Sultan Uddin (40) and Ruhul Amin (57).
Mother Rozina Akhter and Emdadul Haque planned to kill Parvez after learning of Emdadul’s affair with his mother. The detainees later confessed to the RAB that Parvez was brutally murdered in exchange for money and his body was dumped on the banks of the Brahmaputra River in the Namapara area of the Uchakhila union of Upazila.
The RAB-14 media officer, deputy superintendent of police, presented this information at a news conference Thursday afternoon.
He said the mother of the murdered schoolboy Pervez Miah was killed. Rozina Akter had an extramarital affair with local neighbor Emdadul Haque. When his son Parvez found out about the affair, he planned to kill his mother and Emdadul Haque. According to that plan, on October 11 Parvez was assassinated when he hired other defendants in exchange for money, and his body was dumped on the banks of the Brahmaputra River.
On October 12, a murder case was filed at the Ishwarganj Police Station for the incident. Subsequently, the RAB investigated and revealed the secret of the case and arrested the accused.
