Mizan was in seventh grade at the time of marriage. Her second husband obtained bail and moved to Bagerhat. The artist used to rent a house in the Bachila area with Sohail and her son Mizan. After the marriage she realizes that her husband is a cheater.
The people knew him as a retired member of the army. With this identity, it used to take Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 to employ different people. They used to change houses every six or seven months cheating in this way. Sohail told her son Mizan that she would give him a job in January this year. To do this, she brought a lakh of rupees from her second husband in Bagerhat. He gave the money to Sohail for his son’s work. Meanwhile, he learns that Sohail had three previous marriages. Sohail married her distant cousin two months ago. When he protested, Sohail hit him in front of his son. From that point on, she wanted a refund of one lakh of rupees given to her for her son’s work. Sohail used to hit him often.
According to Mizan’s statement in court, Sohail often tortured her mother. On September 10, the mother and son planned to remove Sohail. According to the plan, Mizan bought a gear razor from a sidewalk shop in Mirpur. He bought six sleeping pills at a neighborhood pharmacy and gave them to his mother. On the afternoon of September 13, his mother mixed sleeping pills with straw and let him eat. At the time, Mizan was outside with his friend Fahim. When they received the news that their father was sleeping, they went to the house. Mizan sent her mother from home to her aunt’s home. So Mizan and Fahim killed Sohail and fled.
Abdullah Hill Kafi, Additional Deputy Commissioner for Dhanmondi Police Zone, added that the police had discovered in the Sohail investigation that he was a member of an organized criminal gang. At different times he used to extort money on the pretext of giving people jobs.
