According to the report, the price of a dose of the proposed Covid-19 vaccine has been set at Rs 1,000.

In an interview with the Times of India, Adar Punawala, executive director of the Serum Institute, said the vaccine would be tested on hundreds of infected people in India in May. If the trial is successful, the vaccine will be released to the market between September and October. We plan to provide the vaccine at an affordable price. It’s like 1000 rupees, which is the cost of our production.

Punawala believes that prices in India will be lower than in the global market. Because the price of measles and mumps vaccines is much lower in India. Approximately 10 times less than in the UK.

Punawala said: ‘The test will end in the UK in September, then we will go into production; we don’t want to wait that long. We are making this decision at our own risk and expense. It is being taken for production only. Our goal is to produce an average of 40 to 50 million vaccines in the next six months. Depending on the success of the trial, we will be able to manufacture up to 10 million vaccines per month. However, we will be able to carry vaccines from 2 crore to 4 crore for September-October. If this vaccine is successful, we will make this vaccine for many more countries in the world, including India.

The whole world is waiting for the coronavirus vaccine. The Covid-19 vaccine from Oxford University was experimentally administered to humans last Thursday. Among the seven institutions in the world involved in the Oxford study are the Serum Institute of India.
