The second wave of coronavirus infection has started in the country. However, the health department, including doctors and nurses, is ready to face the second wave.

Health Minister Zahid Malek spoke as keynote guest at the inauguration ceremony of the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital to mark the centenary of the birth of the nation’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The Health Minister said: ‘The second wave of coronavirus infection has started in the country. People leave home in search of life and sustenance. Indifference is noted in following hygiene rules. However, the health department, including doctors and nurses, is ready to face the second wave.

Zahid Malek said that in winter there are various events including weddings and picnics. There is a risk of increased coronary heart disease due to overcrowding. Therefore, it is necessary to refrain from organizing these events.

The minister asked people to respect hygiene standards and the media to face the second wave of corona.
