The Government of Bangladesh will prioritize the repatriation of Rohingya who have been forcibly displaced from Myanmar. Even if a part is transferred to Bhasanchar, they must return to Myanmar.

The government is doing everything possible to ensure the safety of the temporarily protected citizens of Myanmar. But the only lasting solution to the crisis is to return to his homeland.

The Foreign Ministry said in a press release the day that more than 1,800 Rohingya were given temporary shelter in Cox’s Bazar’s Bhasanchar.

Only those who wanted to go there voluntarily were sent. A Rohingya lakh will be sent to that char. Their community leaders visited the site before taking them. NGO and media staff also visited Bhasanchar. That place is now completely safe. The government has secured accommodation, food and medical facilities for the Rohingya in Bhasanchar. In addition, various government agencies and 22 NGOs will provide assistance.

The ministry further said that the Rohingya are citizens of Myanmar. They must return. We urge everyone to be extremely careful not to undermine or misinterpret the actual efforts of the Government of Bangladesh. Human rights organizations will be asked to continue their efforts to create an environment conducive to Rakhine for the Rohingya to return to Myanmar in a swift, safe and dignified manner.

It has fresh water, beautiful lakes, infrastructure, uninterrupted electricity and water supply, agricultural land, cyclone shelters, two hospitals, four community clinics, mosques, telecommunications services, entertainment, training centers and playgrounds. Adequate security has been ensured on the island through the deployment of police officers, including policewomen. In addition, the area is fully controlled by CCTV cameras.

The housing project is built in concrete. Able to withstand natural disasters such as cyclones and storm surges. The cyclone hit Ampan Bhasanchar but did not cause damage to the structure of the house. Bhasanchar has 1,440 houses and 120 shelters. The island is connected to the mainland by waterways. The government is ensuring all modern facilities as well as an adequate food supply for the Rohingya.
