When the matter came to light, the local matabbars mediated and blamed Mohir Uddin, 75, for the crime of his grandson Shahin.

Mohir’s neighbors said the first and second wives of Mohir Uddin, the father of seven, had long since died. He was also married for the third time 26 years ago. That child is his fourth wife. Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque said a three-member investigative committee has already been formed headed by Dewanganj officer Upazila Nirbahi AKM Abdullah bin Rashid, the police officer in charge of Dewanganj (OC) Mohabbat Kabir Khan and Upazila’s women’s affairs officer, Noor Fatema. .
