To integrate students with special needs into the mainstream of education, students must be admitted by lottery against the 2% quota of zero seats. In case of admission of children of officials and employees of the Ministry of Education, only in the schools of the metropolis of Dhaka, subject to having a minimum qualification, students must be selected by lottery against the quota of 2% of vacant seats for admission.
In order to integrate into the mainstream of education, Lillah boarding school students have to arrange for student selection through a lottery against the 1 percent fee for admission to high schools. However, if the quota student is not available, the prescribed vacant seats must be filled with the general quota.
Earlier, on November 25, the Minister of Education, Dipu Moni, had said that due to the coronavirus infection, students would be admitted via lottery to all classes as first class in the schools of the Ministry of Education in the next academic year. In addition, half of the students will be admitted to schools in the Dhaka metropolis among the students living in the vicinity of the respective schools (catchment area). For such a long time, 40 percent of the students in the Dhaka metropolis schools had the opportunity to be admitted from the surrounding areas. However, according to the new Mausi guidelines, in case of admission of students to private schools in the Dhaka metropolis, the 50 percent quota must be reserved for the catchment area in the vicinity of the school in question.
For a long time, students from schools across the country were admitted to the first class by lottery, but students in grades two through eight were admitted through a written test. Admission to Class IX is based on the results of the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Entry Certificate (JDC) (GPA) exams. But due to Corona, the JSC and JDC exams will not be held this year. Therefore, even in the ninth class, there is no opportunity for student admission based on the JSC and JDC results.
