The progress of the Padma Bridge is 7.50 percent

Padma BridgeThe Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, said that work on the Padma Bridge project has progressed by 7.50 percent. Of 41 bays, 31 bays have been installed. The objective was to place the remaining 10 in a row. But due to the strong current of the river Padma, the assembly works of this section are being delayed a little. Other work doesn’t stop. Once the current is calm, the rest of the stretch will be installed.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the Itna-Mithamin-Ashtagram highway via videoconference from Ganobhaban on Thursday (October 8) morning. Earlier, the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, who was present there, said this while highlighting the general activities of his ministry.Obaidul Quader

He said: ‘Another dream project, the dream project of the young generation is Dhaka Metrorail MRT Line-6. During the work on this project, despite various obstacles, 50 percent progress has been made. In addition, preparations for the construction of Metroline-1 and Metroline-5 are also underway. I will build six subway lines by 2030. It will be a far-reaching step in alleviating traffic congestion in the city of Dhaka.

The minister said: “The Padma Bridge is a symbol of the courage and ability of Sheikh Hasina and the government of Sheikh Hasina. Similarly, the Itna-Mithamin-Ashtagram road is a symbol of the success of engineers. The construction of such a road in the middle of the haor is known as the wonder of the haor.
