The positions of professors working as principals and assistant principals of 96 government universities at the honors master’s level are being promoted to the third grade. These officers who work as teachers in the BCS general education cadre are currently in the fourth grade on the national pay scale. The Ministry of Education has requested proposals from the Department of Secondary and Higher Education to enroll them in third grade.

This information was received from the Department of Secondary and Higher Education on Monday (October 19).

According to the interested party, a proposal was sent to the Ministry of Finance to classify the positions of the professors who work as directors and deputy directors of 98 government colleges at the master’s level with honors. These officers who work as teachers in the BCS general education cadre are in the fourth grade on the national pay scale. After gathering information from the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, a proposal was sent to the Ministry of Finance.

However, on October 8, the Finance Ministry was asked to resubmit the proposal along with the draft contracting rules. The Department of Secondary and Higher Education has been requested to resubmit the proposal for promotion to third grade from 96 universities proposed to promote the position of principal to third grade.

A letter was sent to the CEO of the directorate on October 18.

It is also known that in March 2019, the Ministry of Education had proposed to promote 272 directors and 158 deputy directors of the BCS general education cadre with the rank of teacher (fourth grade) to third grade. At the same time, it was proposed to promote 15 positions in the educational cadre to the second grade, including six director positions in the Department of Secondary and Higher Education and nine directors of major universities.
