The agriculture minister was also on leave. At that time, the Prime Minister said, find out the reason why the two-year period and spending have increased from Tk 6 crore to Tk 109 crore. Furthermore, in approving the project entitled “Development and expansion of the Charkhola-Tushakhali Mathbaria-Patharghata highway”, the Prime Minister said that it is an old highway. Why is this project taking so long? Now stop the trend of increasing money and extending the term. Expressing annoyance, the Prime Minister said the project should be completed on time.
Dr. Shamsul Alam further said: “The Prime Minister has ordered to change the name of the project ‘Expansion of Panchabati Highway to Muktarpur Bridge and construction of elevated highway'”. Instead, he asked to build a two-story highway. Because it doesn’t meet elevated highway conditions. In addition, the cost of the consulting sector was estimated at Tk 10 crore in this project. The cabinet secretary demanded an increase. Later, the Prime Minister ordered to increase it by another Tk 15 crore to a total of Tk 25 crore.
The Prime Minister further said that trees cannot be destroyed in road construction. Roads must be built in a standard way. So that heavy vehicles can move. It is also necessary to make a master plan for the southern roads. You have to build the road accordingly. Because the movement of heavy vehicles in that area will increase a lot now.
