Gold ornamentsThe Bangladesh Jewelers Association has decided to reduce the price of this precious metal as the price of gold is decreasing in the world market. In a meeting on Tuesday (December 1), Bajus announced a reduction of Tk 1,018 in gold.

With the announcement of the price reduction, the purchase of a good quality 22 karat gold ornament will cost 72,006 tak. The price will be effective throughout the country as of Wednesday (December 2). On November 25, the association reduced the price of gold by 2,508 taka. As a result, the price of gold in the domestic market fell by 3,073 taka for two consecutive weeks. However, on October 15, the association increased the price of gold by 2,333 Tk.

Starting Wednesday, the new gold price: 21 karat will sell for Rs 69,518 per gram, 18 karat gold will sell for Rs 60,060 and traditional gold ornaments will sell for Rs 50,448 per gram.

Gold prices have been rising on the international market for several months. That is why traders have increased prices in the country market from time to time. The Jewelers Association had increased the price of gold by Tk 5,625 on June 23, Tk 2,918 on July 24 and Tk 4,433 on August 8. Then all of a sudden the price of gold started to fall on the world market. Regarding the price reduction, the Jewelers Association said that despite global stagnation, dollar and oil prices, unprecedented ups and downs in the international gold market, the domestic market plummeted and public concern in Overall, the price of gold fell by Rs 1,016,000.
