Dhaka: The Prime Minister and the President of the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, have commented that the president of the power and the prison are very close to each other.
She made the remarks in a video conference from Ganobhaban on Sunday (December 28) during the opening of the Central Women’s Jail in Keraniganj.
Highlighting the fact that she was imprisoned during the provisional government on January 11, Sheikh Hasina said: “Those of us who do politics, our presidents of power and prisons are very close to each other.” Which is very normal. What happened in 2006 was beyond power, but I was the first to be arrested. So that’s what we know will happen when it comes to politics.
Noting the repeated imprisonment of Bangabandhu in his militant life, the Prime Minister said: “It is not just a crime to go to jail.” In 1947, when our mother tongue, Bengal, was taken from us, the father of the nation went to jail for protesting. He then spent much of his life in prison in a very inhuman way.
Highlighting his experience of going to jail to meet Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina said: “We always have a relationship with jail.” I’ve been in jail since I was a child and I have the opportunity to learn a lot about the good and the bad.
“The Father of the Nation can learn a lot about prisons by reading the prison diary and the unfinished autobiography. ‘
Highlighting the various steps taken by the government to turn the prison into a correctional facility, the Prime Minister said: “Our goal is not only to keep criminals in jail, but also to change their way of thinking, give them some training, educate them. and get them out of the same crime in the future. We have taken this measure in prison keeping in mind that we should not get involved. ‘
Sheikh Hasina said that those who are arrested in prisons, their families suffer if someone is arrested normally. Criminal for crime. But even then their families suffer. … why are there so many unemployed? That is why we have arranged to train them there, to produce some of their products, as well as to market the products produced.
‘The money that will come as a result of the marketing will be given to whoever will produce 50 percent of the profits. He can collect it himself and send a part to his family. ‘
The Prime Minister said: “We have made some changes in the prison.” Our prison guards had no training or security. Even his stay was not well organized. Those measures were taken in the new prison. We are improving the prisons.
Sheikh Hasina said: “We will release those who go to jail, except political prisoners, and we will train those who commit any crime to become suitable people.”
The government is taking steps to introduce virtual courts in district prisons, he said, adding that courtrooms have already been established in Keraniganj prisons. In this way, courtrooms will also be set up in district jails so that cases are processed online in the same way as virtual courts. This is how we are acting. That is, taken in a modern way.
“Since it is digital Bangladesh, it is difficult to run a court in Corona now. We have created virtual tracks. ‘
The Prime Minister said that all laws are being digitized. The list of causes of any case will also be available online. Use technology to make all your work smoother and more efficient. We are taking that step.
Sheikh Hasina said steps are being taken to print the verdict of the case in Bengali, adding that arrangements are being made to print the verdict of the case in Bengali.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated an LPG station in Keraniganj.
The gas connection is provided from the LPG station to the central jail. As a result, from now on it is not necessary to burn wood for cooking. The LPG will cook with gas.
Earlier, the Prime Minister unveiled the new state-of-the-art Polar Star Dash 8-400 model in a video conference from Ganobhaban.
In a video conference, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated 20 newly built fire stations and 8 newly built regional passport offices in different parts of the country.
