The president raped the girl in the union council room

The president has been accused of raping a young woman trapped in a room at the Union Parishad in Ashulia, Savar.

The victim filed a complaint with the police, but the police did not file a case. Later, the girl brought a case against the president and three others in court on Sunday (September 26). The court learned of the case and ordered the Police Investigation Bureau (PBI) to investigate and take legal action.

Defendant Shahabuddin Matbar (50) is the president of Ashulia Union Parishad and son of Wahab Madbar from the Tongabari area. The other defendant in the case, the president’s brother-in-law. Alamgir (38) and personal assistant Sabuj Sikder (35).

The girl, complaining about the case, said: “Last Tuesday (September 22), the girl went to the union council with a relative to give a trial to the president for a matter related to debts. Later, she went home without finding the president and tried her. When the president advised her to present a case in court, the girl went home. Alamgir, the president’s brother-in-law, and Sabuj Sikder, a personal assistant, forcibly took her to the UP office, accusing her of lying. The girl’s relatives were kept in a separate room. The president raped the girl in another room. After the president left the room, his brother-in-law and personal assistant also tried to rape the girl. After this incident, the girl and her relatives were released on the condition that the matter be kept secret with various threats.

Subsequently, the girl filed a written complaint with the Ashulia police station, but the police were not aware of it.

However, Ashulia police inspector (investigation) Ziaul Islam said: “I don’t know the matter.” This problem is being investigated.

The defendant Shahabuddin Madbar, president of Ashulia Union Parishad, was contacted by his mobile phone more than once, but could not be located.
