The government has decided to build residential buildings for senior police officers in the elite areas of the capital, the police line areas of the Gulshan and Sylhet districts. The cost of this has been estimated at 119 crore four lakh 90 thousand 46 rupees.
The proposal was approved at a virtual meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement on Wednesday (November 4). Additional Cabinet Secretary Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal told reporters after the meeting. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal chaired the meeting.
He said the package would include 15-story residential buildings, 12 units of 650 square feet on each floor, internal toilets and electrification, underground reservoirs, deep-pipe wells, pump motors, roads, compound drains and PABX systems.
He further said that the Bangladeshi company with the lowest bid, Hossain Construction (Private) Limited and Amanat Enterprise, have received approval to undertake construction work under a package of ‘Construction of a 14-story residential building with two basements in the Dhaka Gulshan area for senior officers of the Bangladesh Police ‘. It will cost 63 crore 50 lakh 24,606 rupees. The package will include a 14-story building with two basements, 2,200 square feet each for four units, and 48 apartments with two two-story duplexes, driveways or sidewalks, boundary walls with doors, compound drains and guardhouses.
He said that Padma Associates and Engineers Limited has been appointed by the government to construct a residential building in the Sylhet district police line area under the project ‘Construction of 9 residential tower buildings for members of the Bangladesh police ‘in different parts of the country at a cost of Tk 55.54 crore.
