RAB Director (Media) Lt. Colonel Ashiq Billah said the driver Malek was accused of various terrorist activities, including illegal arms trade, counterfeit money business and extortion. He has created a reign of terror and made public life miserable by holding ordinary people hostage at gunpoint in his area through displays of power and show of force.
During preliminary questioning, Malek said he was a third-class driver and employee of the Department of Health’s transportation group by profession. His educational grade is eighth class. He first joined the Savar Health Project in 1982 as a driver. Later, in 1986, he began working as a driver in the transportation group of the health department. He currently works in the Department of Health and Education in the county council.
According to sources, there are two seven-story luxury buildings in Dakshin Kamarpara that are named after Malek’s wife. There is a 10-story building under construction on a 4.5 katha lot in the Hatirpul area of ​​Dhanmondi and a dairy farm on a 15 katha lot in southern Kamarpara. It is also known that a large amount of money is deposited in various banks anonymously.

Malek’s driver is known to be married to two. There are two seven-story residential buildings (Haji Complex) on the north side of the Dakshin Kamarpara Ramzan market below the Turag police station in the name of his first wife Nargis Akter. So there are a total of 24 floors. Also, there are more than 10/12 katha plots. Malek now lives with his family on the third floor of this building. Some of the remaining flats are for rent.

It is known that there is a cattle farm called ‘Emon Dairy Farm’ in a 15 katha land at Rajabari Holding, 60, South Kamarpara, named after Baby, daughter of driver Malek. There are about 50 cows with calves.

According to sources, he has formed an organization called the Drivers Association in the Department of Health and has become the president of that organization. With the power of this position, he has established a monopoly on the drivers of the health department. He used to collect a large amount of money in the name of recruiting, transferring and promoting drivers. He has also extorted a large amount of money in the name of the transfer and promotion of several doctors and the hiring of third- and fourth-class employees by taking the director of administration of the health department hostage.

It is known that the driver Malek appointed his daughter Naurin Sultana Bailey as an office assistant, his brother Abdul Khaleq as an office assistant, his nephew Abdul Hakim as an office assistant, the husband of the eldest daughter Ratan as a canteen manager. , the nephew Sohail Shikari as the driver and Vaira Mahbub as the driver. Kamal Pasha has been given a job in the health department as an office assistant.

Although Malek is a driver, he regularly uses a white Jeep Pajero (Dhaka Metro vehicle number G-13-2969) assigned to the CEO for personal purposes. In addition to the Pajero car assigned to the Director General, two other vehicles from the Department of Health were used for personal purposes. He used a van (Dhaka Metro L-13-6001) to sell milk from his cattle farm and transport goods to the canteen run by his daughter-in-law. Another minibus (car # Dhaka Metro Ch-53-641) was used by other members of his family who worked in the health department.

Hundreds of millions of rupees have been illegally earned and smuggled abroad through unrestricted corruption and the acquisition of known non-income generating assets by unionizing with the Health Department. Shamsul Alam summoned him to the ACC on October 22 of last year. However, the ACC has not yet completed its investigation against him.
