Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said she did not think about how much money she does or does not have. Instead, I thought of one thing: if we want to keep the wheel of our economy moving in these tough times, we must deliver money to the people.
The head of government said that if there is no money, it becomes difficult for ordinary people to earn a living. So with your help, the cash and money that we have sent directly to different sectors has been very helpful. The townspeople have the opportunity to eat something. They have been able to do that.
The Prime Minister said this while chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) via video conference from Ganobhaban.
Other interested ministers and secretaries attended the meeting held at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar NEC conference room in the city and Planning Minister MA Mannan attended the virtual Ganobhaban meeting.
The Prime Minister said: “We have given incentives in industry and other sectors, as well as various incentive packages in agriculture.” We have delivered separate incentive packages for small, medium, large and garment industries. In addition, incentive packages have been provided in all sectors to keep the country’s economy afloat in the event of the Kavid-19 epidemic.
The prime minister and the president of ECNEC also mentioned that their government’s incentives for Kavid-19 were “very timely.”
“First of all, I have emphasized agriculture. We have to hold on to agriculture and increase food production,” he said. We have made sure that people do not suffer from food shortages.
Sheikh Hasina said: “They have all started to receive the incentives that we have given them in the field of trade and commerce, but gradually they have been able to return to their respective businesses.” Because we have not been left out of any sector that we have not helped. Not only the rich, but also those involved in all kinds of businesses have received the incentive.
The Prime Minister said about the type of incentive or cash assistance, he has done it in a new way. But what I saw was really acceptable.
He thanked the concerned ministry, field staff and BBS for this.
Addressing a class of so-called critics of the country, he said: “A lot of people are talking a lot. If they really spread this result, those who are speaking without knowing it will not get it. They will get some information.” Although it is their custom to say, they will say.
Sheikh Hasina said, it is very important to know the result of a job, how much (benefit) has reached the people.
This, he said, is an opportunity to do exactly what needs to be done next and where to put more importance or where more cooperation needs to go. This is the most important.
