Police have recovered the bodies of two sisters from Ganeshpur in the center of Rangpur city. Their bodies were recovered from their home around 2 p.m. on Friday (September 18). Cousins ​​of the dead.

The body of Sumaiya Akhter Meem was found hanging with a fan in the room. Witnesses said that the body of her cousin Jannatul Mawa lay on the floor in the next room.

Police and eyewitnesses said that on Thursday Jannatul Mawa, the daughter of local electrician Mominul Islam, went to her father-in-law’s home in Kurigram to search for his wife. Jannatul takes her cousin Sumaiya home to spend the night together.

After that, Sumaiya’s mother entered the house without any response until 12 noon on Friday and saw Sumaiya hanging from the fan and Jannatul Mawa lying on the floor.

Upon receiving the news, senior officials of the Metropolitan Police visited the place. Initial investigations revealed that Jannatul Mawar had blood stains on his nose and throat.

Confirming the recovery of the body, the Kotwali Police Officer in Charge (CO) of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police, Abdur Rashid, said that it was not possible to say at this time whether it was a murder or a suicide. Preparations are underway to send the body to the morgue for an autopsy. In addition, the police have launched an investigation to find out the reasons.
