Narayanganj: Narayanganj: Two police officers have responded to the court’s protest over the rescue of a teenage girl after she confessed to the alleged gang rape and murder of Narayanganj schoolgirl Jisa Moni Akhter.
They appeared at the Narayanganj Nurunnahar Yasmin Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (September 1) and submitted a written response.
Subsequently, the court accepted the response in writing and set September 26 as the next date for the order.
The two are Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Asaduzzaman from Narayanganj Sadar and Deputy Inspector (SI) Shamim Al Mamun, recently fired.
At the beginning of August 26, the court had ordered the Sadar police station OC Asaduzzaman and the investigating officer of the case SI Shamim Al Mamun to give reasons in writing on the matter.
Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Asaduzzaman said the model Sadar OC Asaduzzaman police station and SI Shamim Al Mamun appeared in court in the afternoon and gave a written response to the incident. Later, the court set September 26 for the next order.
Teenager Jisa Moni went missing on July 4. Approximately two weeks after the girl’s disappearance, the girl’s mother filed a GD at the Modelo Sadar Police Station on July 18. Later, on August 8, the father filed a kidnapping case at the police station. The next day, the police said the Khalilnagar area of the port. Abdullah, 22, arrested Rakib, 19, an easybike driver from the Burundi Paschimpara area, and Khalilur Rahman, 38, a boatman from the Ispahani ferry.
On August 9, the defendant testified pursuant to section 164 in a separate court of the Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate and Judicial Magistrate. In their confession, they said they had killed the schoolgirl after gang raping him and floated his body in the Shitalakshya river. There are currently three people in jail.
Narayanganj Additional Police Superintendent (Administration) Mostafizur Rahman said: “We know that the girl was not raped.” The girl met the defendant Abdullah on the day of the incident. Later that night, she ran away with her ex-boyfriend named Iqbal. The two were married and lived in a rented house in the Bandar Kushiyara area. On the afternoon of August 23, Jisa Akhter called her mother Rekha Akhter and demanded money. Later in the morning, the police rescued Jisa Akter from Kushiyara and arrested her husband Iqbal.
Meanwhile, the families of the three young men accused of rescuing the teenager alive have alleged that the investigating officer in the case, SI Shamim Al Mamun, took 47,000 rupees from their three families for fear of being tortured in pre-trial detention.
Even after that, they were tortured and threatened in pre-trial detention and demanded their confession. SI Shamim was suspended on August 31 in connection with the allegations.
