Dhaka: In the context of the corona virus epidemic, it has been decided that the number of mandapas for the next Durga Puja should be kept as low as possible and no procession can take place when the idol is abandoned. The decision was made at a virtual meeting chaired by Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in the Interior Ministry’s conference room on Sunday (October 4) on the occasion of Durga Puja.
The other decisions made at the meeting were: The leaders of the nationwide public worship celebration committee will take action. Members of law enforcement agencies will be on mobile roles to deal with law and order. The puja holding committee can take steps to reduce the crowds at the puja mandapa and broadcast the Anjali Dan program live on the television channel. And perform various ceremonies maintaining religious harmony.
In addition, the Ministry of Information will help disseminate other directives in the media, including restricting public gatherings. Everyone should be aware of the second wave of coronavirus. The celebration committee will coordinate with the local administration and law enforcement agencies in handling the puja mandapa. In an emergency, the bidding committee may take 999 services.
The meeting was virtually attended by Senior Secretaries of Public Security, Secretaries of the Armed Forces, Secretaries of Religions, Secretaries of Information Ministries, Inspector General of Police, Director General of Coast Guard, Ansar and VDP, BGB, RAB, NSI, Fire and Defense civil and interested ministries.
