Muhammad Rashed Khan, the joint coordinator of the Student Rights Council, and Nurul Haque Nur, former Daksh vice president, have been declared “undesirable” and a new convocation committee of 22 members from the same organization has been announced.
They made the announcement at a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday. They announced the new convening committee under the name “General Council for the Protection of Student Rights of Bangladesh”.
It is worth mentioning that a rape case has been registered against six people, including Muhammad Rashed Khan and Nurul Haque Nur. Nur has been charged in three cases brought by a student from Dhaka University.
On September 20, the student filed a rape case against Hasan Al Mamun, the coordinator of the Bangladesh General Council for the Protection of Students’ Rights, at the Lalbagh Police Station in the capital. Daksh Nurul’s former vice president Haque Nur and five other people were charged in the case.
The next day, September 21, he filed another case against the six defendants at the Kotwali Police Station. The defendants in the case were charged with conspiracy to kidnap, rape, collaborate in rape and digital propaganda to demonstrate contempt.
Later on Wednesday (October 14) at noon, the same DU student filed a case against Nur under the Digital Security Act. It has been alleged in the case that Nur gave the plaintiff ‘no character’ status from his Facebook ID.
