Expressing his solidarity with the demand for the reintroduction of the quota in government service, the Minister for Liberation War Affairs, AQM Mozammel Haque, told the prime minister that the prime minister should reconsider the question of canceling the quota.

Mentioning that the Prime Minister must evaluate the family of the martyr freedom fighter, Mozammel Haque further said that the children of Razakar cannot implement the spirit of the liberation war. If there are no pro-liberation people in the administration, then they will sing the same song that they used to sing during the Pakistani period.

He said this while addressing a discussion meeting on ‘Shaheed Sontan-71’ in the auditorium of the Ramna Engineers Institution in the capital on Saturday afternoon. The meeting called for the introduction of the quota facility in government service. The Minister of Liberation War expressed solidarity in this.

At the meeting, the organization made several demands on the government. The demands include declaring December 15 as National Martyrs’ Day, providing inheritance benefits to the families of martyred freedom fighters, and introducing quota benefits in government positions, establishing a 25 percent political quota for the children of martyrs in anti-independent families and war criminals. Preparation of lists and expeditious preparation of the boycott and racial list of children of war criminals to guarantee justice.

Referring to the opposition to the construction of the Bangabandhu sculpture at the time, the minister said: “Those who killed three caliphs in the time of Kholafa Rashedin and said we killed for Islam.” Today they want to launch the Bangabandhu sculpture in Buriganga. After the creation of Pakistan, they said in the name of the religion that it is not allowed to teach Bengali, if they learn the language of Hindus and Christians, there will be no Islam. These extremists said that teaching English is prohibited. As a result, Muslims have lagged behind a hundred years in education, knowledge and science. In 1970, they said that if Sheikh Mujib was voted on the ship, the religion would disappear. They always want to disturb the development of the country by misleading the people with a misinterpretation of religion. Their main problem is that they cannot tolerate the development of the country.

The secretary general of the organizing organization, Al Amin Mukti, also spoke at the meeting. Former Chief Engineer of the Department of Housing and Public Works and freedom fighter Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan, chairman of ‘Shaheed Sontan-71’ Dr. Selina Rashid, IEB general secretary of the child engineer freedom fighter. Shahadat Hossain, the eminent lawyer Zakir Ahmed, Professor MA Hafeez de Muktijoddha Sontan and Emdadul Haque.
