Dhaka: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek has taken full responsibility for the treatment of Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi (UN) officer Wahida Khanam from the Dinajpur district, who was seriously injured in the attack.
The health minister relayed the message by phone on Thursday (September 3) evening, said Maidul Islam Pradhan, the ministry’s public relations officer. At the same time, the minister strongly condemned the brutal attack and demanded the swift arrest and punishment of those guilty.
UNO Waheeda, who was attacked at home, is being treated at the National Neuroscience Hospital in the capital.
Earlier in the day, in addition to the Minister of State for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, concerned people visited the hospital and inquired about UNO’s treatment.
Farhad Hossain also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered the UN to guarantee Wahidar Suchikitsa.
