RAB has arrested Yasin Arafat Shaon, one of the main terrorists listed in Mymensingh and a member of the Juba Metropolitan League, and six of his associates. They were detained in a raid on the Purohitpara residence in the city on Saturday morning. Yassin Arafat Shaon is a member of the Mymensingh Metropolitan Juba League and the son of Idris Hossain from the Chamragudam area.
In the afternoon, at a press conference held at the RAB-14 headquarters, Lieutenant Captain of the RAB-14. Colonel Iftekhar Uddin said Yasin Arafat Shaon and Masood Parvez are the main terrorists and extortionists listed in Mymensingh. There are 7/8 cases of weapons, extortion, contraband, robbery, and drugs in his name at different police stations. Following these allegations, raids were carried out on their homes in the Purohit Para area of the city in the morning. Meanwhile, Yassin Arafat Shaon (38) and his brother Masood Parvez (30), Raihan Ahmed Rajib (26), son of the late Chabu Mia leather store in Sehra, Manik Mia (28), son of the late Abdul Jabbar, son of Altaf Hossain Md. Rajib (30), Hridoy Ahmed Rajib (18), son of Abdul Gani of Medical Chhota Krishnapur Baganbari and Bappi Khan (36), son of Mokhles Ahmed of Purohitpara.
A search of his home yielded two pistols, a revolver, three magazines, two shotguns, seven Ramadas, a telescopic site for a sleeping rifle, and a host of domestic weapons and ammunition, yaba, and equipment to make weapons.
It is worth mentioning that the residents of Charpara, Chamragudam and Purhitpara of the city of Mymensingh had been protesting and holding demonstrations demanding the arrest of Yasin Arafat Shaon.
