A university student named Rakib (21) committed suicide by hanging himself after his girlfriend got married elsewhere in Siddhirganj de Narayanganj. The incident took place in the Mizmiji Dakshinpara area of Siddhirganj on Friday (September 25).
Rakib Sonargaon Kanchpur Union 8th Ward. Habibullah’s eldest son. He was a first-year honors student at Kabi Nazrul Government College. Rakib was the eldest of two sisters and a brother. With their families, they lived in the late President Kabir’s rented house in the Mizmiji Dakshinpara area.
Rakiba’s younger sister, Rakika, said, “My brother had a long love affair with a girl from the area.” My brother committed suicide on Friday out of anger and grief that the girl was getting married elsewhere. On Saturday (September 26) at 8:30 am, the police came and recovered my brother’s body and sent him to the Narayanganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Siddhirganj (SI) Police Deputy Inspector Kajal Majumder said Rakib was initially thought to have committed suicide by wrapping a towel around his neck with a ceiling fan between 1:00 p.m. M. And 3:00 p.m. M. Friday.
Siddhirganj Police Officer in Charge (CO), Kamrul Farooq, said a letter was found at Rakib’s home. In a letter to his mother and two sisters, Rakib said, “Mother, forgive me.” Sister, take care of your mother. The idea is that this suicide happened out of love. Even then we are investigating the matter.
Several friends of Rakib said that a girl had been in a romantic relationship with Rakib for three or four years. Rakib told his family about their relationship. But his family did not accept the girl’s relationship with Rakib. Recently, the girl’s parents married her elsewhere. Rakib was emotionally broken and chose the path of suicide.
