Juba League leader and mayoral candidate Maksudul Basar Bandhan Patwari was arrested in a fight with the police in Faridganj, Chandpur. At that time, they recovered household weapons and cocktail-like objects.

The incident took place in District 9 of the Faridganj municipal area on Friday. Two separate cases have been registered under the Arms and Explosives Act against the police on Friday afternoon.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night in the Charkumira village of the 9th district of the Faridganj municipal area when the Gias Uddin Babul Patwari Gang embankment was cut off.

Sahabuddin, the guard of the fish enclosure, said that Juba League leader and mayoral candidate Maksudul Basar Patwari cut the embankment of the enclosure. So that the fish floats in the water. When the guard tried to stop him, Bandhan Patwari threatened to kill him with a gun.

Later, a team of police officers went there on Friday morning when the owner took refuge in the police station to protect the fish pond. At that time Bandhan Patwari also got into a fight with the police. At one point, the police recovered a Chinese ax, a dagger and a cocktail-like object from him and arrested him.

Regarding the incident, Salauddin Patwari, brother of Gias Uddin Babul Patwari, said that they have been fishing from the fish pond for the past few days. But Bandhan Patwari cut off the gher dam on Thursday night. This has washed away a large number of fish.

However, detainee Bandhan Patwari said he was framed in a false case. It has been planned. He did not attack the police.

Faridganj Police Station OC Mohammad Shahid Hossain said the case was brought against Bandhan Patwari and sent to court.
