Dhaka: State-of-the-art operational equipment is being added as part of the police modernization initiative. These will include a tactical belt, small arms with a Thai host and hands-free communication.

Through this, the necessary equipment including the policemen’s weapons will be kept on the belt, the hands will be completely empty. Stakeholders feel that long-term performance will be comfortable and operational efficiency will increase.

In the first phase, 6,000 members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and 3,000 members of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) will receive the operational team. This team will also be paired with members of the police at all metropolitan, district and village levels in phases.

This information was given by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. at a press conference held at the Rajarbagh Police Lines Bangladesh Police Auditorium on Tuesday (December 15) at noon. Benazir Ahmed.

The IGP said that police in the developed world do not use heavy weapons in routine tasks. From now on we also want to introduce that topic. It will first be used in Dhaka and Chittagong starting tomorrow. Then it will be introduced in all cases step by step. Hopefully within the next month, DMP and CMP will be able to add their members to the new trend. This will allow members of the police to carry out their duties smoothly. We do not want the traffic police on the streets of Dhaka to be wireless in one hand, busy in one hand. The addition of new equipment will move the wireless connection to the belt. Members of the police will be able to use wireless technology with a microphone attached to their shoulders.
Referring to the police hardware changes in the addition of operational equipment, he said that in addition to this, software changes are also necessary, that is, behavior changes. We want the behavior of the youngest to the highest ranking members of the police to be exemplary. Hardware changes cannot meet expectations, so software changes are required. We believe that by changing our minds we can quickly get used to new changes.

He is hopeful that the use of small arms by the police in routine tasks will increase their capacity and that compatriots will enjoy the benefits.

So far no small arms have been imported to add to the new team. It has been possible to prepare them with stock weapons. Police personnel on routine duty will carry these weapons, but in the event of any adverse and unforeseen situation, the police will continue to use long weapons to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property.

The purpose of launching this latest generation operational equipment is established:

1. Maintain hands-free or hands-free while performing duties to increase the efficiency and operational capacity of police officers.
2. Use lightweight, easy-to-carry short arms instead of heavy and difficult long arms to perform routine tasks under normal circumstances.
3. Consistently reduce the use of overly powerful long gun arms to avoid overly casual unwanted situations.
4. Provide comfort to police officers by making it easier for them to carry out their long-term duties.
5. Leaving the trend of colonial succession.
. Build the Bangladesh Police like other modern countries in the world.
. Reduce the emotional distance between the police and people and facilitate police service.

The latest features of this operating equipment are: With this operating team, all the necessary equipment to perform the functions of a police officer has been provided. To maintain public order, much-needed equipment for the police has been added in such a way that a policeman can easily obtain necessary things in a matter of moments while on duty. Arrangements have been made to keep small arms there by placing Thai holsters with tactical belts. There is also the opportunity to carry an extendable cane, flashlight, handcuffs and a water bottle on the belt.

A microphone and a Wallace kit are provided with the Wallace team to ensure rapid exchange of messages in the event of an emergency. In this way, in the performance of their duties, the police officers will be able to exchange messages without having to face the Wallace set. With the introduction of this new operational team, members of the police no longer have to carry weapons on their shoulders or hands as before. Since the hands are empty, the police officers can use both hands for any need of the people. This state-of-the-art operating equipment will also give the Bangladesh police a smart look.
