The Alpana festival started at 12:30 pm on Thursday in front of the police line in the city of Gaibandha district with the aim of earning a name in the Guinness Book of World Records. After 22 hours straight, it ends at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The people of Gaibandha are hopeful that Bangladesh will re-enter the Guinness Book of World Records through this alpana.

A few days ago, ‘Bangabandhu in the field of crops’ took place in the Guinness Book of World Records in Bogra.

Deputy Commissioner in front of Gaibandha Police Lines on Friday at 12 noon. Abdul Matin officially announced the completion of this Alpana drawing job. Later he cut the ribbon and opened the road to traffic.

The deputy commissioner walked the road with the students.

The Vice President of the National Assembly, Fazle Rabbi Mia, inaugurated the festival on the Gaibandha-Saghata-Fulchhari road along the 10 km stretch to Bhangamor in Saghata upazila.

1,100 students and volunteers participated in the drawing work. They have eaten and rested on the way between jobs.

After drawing Alpana, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Matin led the way and said, “I am impressed to see the drawing work on the way. Gaibandha will not only be named in the Guinness Book of World Records because of this laziness, but it has also enhanced the beauty of the Gaibandha-Saghata road. ”

The Alpana festival has been organized by the Gaibandha Public University Students Association (Pusag), an organization of students from public universities and government medical colleges in the country.

In this regard, the president of the Association of Students of Public Universities of Gaibandha (Pusag), Hussain Mohammad Jim, said that the work has been completed in just 22 hours with a time limit of 24 hours to draw Alpana on 10 km of road . This has been possible thanks to the day and night work of the students and volunteers.

“We would be happy if our work was recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records.”

He said that a total of 6,000 liters of paint were used in this work and thanked everyone who collaborated.
