Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the government is preparing for the children to return to their educational institutions and resume their educational activities normally. The Prime Minister said this while addressing a graduation ceremony of the National Defense Course-2020 and the Armed Forces War Course-2020 at the National Defense College, Sheikh Hasina Complex, DSCSC, Mirpur Cantonment from his official Ganobhaban residence .
The prime minister said the government has been unable to open schools for Kovid-19 and arrangements have been made to take classes online and on television. After all, if children can’t go to school, it creates stress for them.
In this context, the Prime Minister mentioned that the second wave of Corona started when the government was preparing to open an educational institution. He again urged everyone to follow the health guidelines to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
‘Prepare to defend sovereignty’
Mentioning that Bangladesh believes in peace and wants peace, the Prime Minister reiterated the country’s peaceful position. However, he emphasized being always ready to respond if the country’s sovereignty is threatened.
Sheikh Hasina further said: ‘We don’t want war, we want peace. But if someone comes to damage our sovereignty, we must acquire the ability to strike back. We must train and prepare for this. All members of our armed forces must remember this at all times. “
In this context, the Prime Minister said that more than one million Myanmar citizens have taken refuge in Bangladesh and Bangladesh has never taken the path of conflict with them. We have continued discussions to resolve the issue. He added that Bangladesh has called for a swift resolution of the crisis on the world stage, as these citizens of Myanmar are a great burden to the country.
The Prime Minister further said that the Armed Forces will always be ready to ensure the security of the country and establish security on the world stage. We are working towards that goal.
‘Work for the people’
The Prime Minister called on all members of the Armed Forces to build themselves with patriotism since the Armed Forces were born in the country through the Great War of Liberation. He also called on members of the armed forces to work for the people of the country.
Sheikh Hasina praised the work of the Armed Forces in all the country’s crises, including the Kovid-19 epidemic. He said that the country had gained independence with the greatest sacrifice of millions of people. This sacrifice must not be allowed to be in vain. This freedom will take us to the peak of success.
At this time, the Prime Minister gave a brief overview of various development programs of the country, including ‘Vision-2021’, ‘Vision 2041’ and ‘Delta Plan-2100’.
Sheikh Hasina further said that despite failing to meet the target set due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, Bangladesh is still considered a role model of development on the world stage.
