DCCI President Shams Mahmood conducted a webinar entitled ‘E-Learning’. In this, academics and experts in this field expressed their opinions. The opening remarks were given by Professor Osama Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Surrey, UK.
Participating in the discussion, the speakers emphasized developing the necessary infrastructure to make e-learning more effective in the country’s educational system, update the curricular content and provide low-cost internet services.
In this context, the president of DCCI raised the issue of the high cost of internet in the current mobile phones in the country. He said the high cost of mobile data packages is a major obstacle for marginalized people to access Internet services. He said that the average rate of participation in technical education in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries is above 45 percent, while in Bangladesh it is below 15 percent. In this situation, you must be available to increase participation and interest in technical education. This requires e-learning.

At that time, said the Minister of Education, more importance will be given to e-learning activities in education policy. He said that the people of this country are very tech-friendly.
