The GNC driver returned the bag full of money to the woman

Driver Monir Hossain found a bag full of money inside the CNG autorickshaw and returned it to its rightful owner. Rahima Begum retrieved the bag for his honesty. The incident took place at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria.

Akhaura Upazila President Abul Kashem Bhuiyan found the true owner of the bag on the basis of the checkbook and mobile phone in the bag and delivered the bag along with the money on Sunday afternoon.

The owner of the bag is Rahima Begum. Her husband is the late Enamul Hossain Montu Bhuiyan, a resident of Bhuiyanbari, Chinair, Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila.

Four people, including Rahima Begum, are known to have returned to their home in the village of Sadar upazila in Chinair on GNC from the Kautli bus stop in Brahmanbaria on Thursday afternoon. At the time, they had 14 lakh rupees, property titles and bank check book in a bag. But when they got off the CNG, they forgot and left the bag full of money in the CNG.

Later, Monir Hossain, a GNC driver from Ramrail village in Sadar upazila, saw a bag full of money behind the seat of a GNC autorickshaw on Saturday morning. He reported the matter to Sanu Mia, a freedom fighter from his uncle Bongaj’s village. Sanu Mia can find out the money by contacting Rahima Begum, a GNC passenger from Chinair village. He reported the matter to his relative Abha Qasim Bhuiyan, president of Akhaura Upazila Parishad. Akhaura Upazila President Abul Qasim Bhuiyan returned the bag full of money to Rahima Begum on Sunday morning.

GNC driver Monir Hossain said: “I got off the passenger and went home.” The next day I went to a wedding on Friday. Saw the bag of money while cleaning GNC on Saturday morning. I am happy to return the money to the owner.

Rahima Begum expressed relief after receiving the money and said: “I am overwhelmed by the honesty of the GNC driver.”

Akhaura Upazila Parishad President Abul Qasim Bhuiyan said that GNC passenger Rahima Begum forgot and left Tk 14 lakh on GNC. When the GNC driver informed me, I called the actual owner and gave him the money.
