According to the police and the girl, the orphan girl (15) from her uncle’s house in the Kaunia area of Rangpur came to visit her aunt’s house in Patgram of Lalmonirhat last Monday (October 5). From there, the following night, the Karatoya Express intercity train bound for Lalmonirhat departed for Kaunia. When the train stopped at Kakina Station in Kaliganj, the girl got off the train to fetch water.
At that time, when a boy introduced himself as Rocky at Kakina station, the girl introduced himself as a resident of Kaunia. Meanwhile, when he leaves the train station, Rocky will take an autorickshaw up to Kaunya and promises to take him home in that autorickshaw.
According to that, in an autorickshaw, the young man named Rocky took the girl to Kaunia and took her to an isolated room of an irrigation pump in the middle of the night, four young men along with three other Rocky friends took turns raping the woman. girl.
The next day, Wednesday (October 8) morning, four youths released the teenager on condition of anonymity. Later, when the sick teenager kept forgetting about the road, he admitted the matter in questioning of the locals. Later, with the help of the locals, the girl took refuge in the house of a village policeman.
The girl also claimed that the local matabbars held a meeting on Thursday night (October 8) to identify the rapists and collect a large fine.
Instead of paying the fine to the girl, the rapist threatened her and fired her with 2,000 rupees as travel expenses.
Later on Friday (October 9) at noon, the girl took refuge in the Kaliganj Press Club through the locals. When journalists reported to the police after hearing the shocking story of the incident at the press club, the Kaliganj police rescued the girl and detained her.
Kaliganj police launched a preliminary investigation into the information provided about the rape. Around 9 o’clock at night, he filed a case against 4 people.
Farhad Hossain, police officer in charge of Kaliganj (OC Investigation), said a case was registered after a preliminary investigation into the information provided by the teenager. One of the accused has been arrested. The police went to the field to catch the rest. He also said that the rest of the defendants will be caught soon.
