Narayanganj-4 (Siddhirganj and Fatulla) constituency deputy Shamim Osman said: “The explosion in the house of God mosque does not appear to be normal. The incident is not sabotage, it cannot be said.
Shamim Osman said this while visiting the Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in the West Floor area of Fatullah on Saturday afternoon.
When asked for prayers for all those killed at the time, Shamim Osman said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed all burn victims for better treatment.”
Deputy Shamim Osman said the bomb blast at the party’s office in Chashara in Narayanganj in 2001 was unusual and suggested that the mosque blast could be similar. He called on the government to pay more attention to the incident and request an investigation by experts.
Shamim Osman assured that he would be next to the families of the dead and wounded.
