Chittagong: An expatriate named Kobbat Hossain (48) was shot dead in Raozan. The dog was also reportedly shot to death.
The incident took place in the Purbagujra Bara Thakur Para area of Raozan upazila on Friday (December 25) afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kobbat Hossain, son of Billal Hossain from the East Gujra Bara Thakur Para area of Raozan upazila. He lived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Police said he arrived in Bangladesh two months ago.
Said the assistant superintendent of police for the Chittagong District (Rangunia Circle). Anwar Hossain Shamim told banglanews that Kobbat Hossain was shot and killed in the Bara Thakur area of East Gujra on Friday afternoon with a weapon licensed in his name. He was later taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead.
Raozan Police Officer in Charge (CO) Abdullah Al Harun told banglanews that Kobbat Hossain came to Bangladesh from Abu Dhabi in the UAE two months ago. He came and took the pistol licensed in his name from the Raozan police station. The expat along with the dog was shot while trying to kill the dog with a double-barreled pistol.
After the autopsy, Kobbat Hossain’s body will be handed over to his family, OC Abdullah Al Harun said.
