The Ethiopian army surrounded the capital of the Tigris. The rebels were given 72 hours to surrender.

The Tigre Popular Liberation Front (TPLF) has been fighting the Ethiopian army for the past three weeks. The army prepares for the final blow against the TPLF.
An Ethiopian government spokesman said the army had surrounded the Tigris capital. The Prime Minister has already given the TPLF 72 hours to stop fighting and surrender to the army. If this request is not fulfilled, the army will enter the capital and launch an operation against the TPLFA, the government spokesman said.

The TPLF ruled Ethiopia from 1991 to 2016. The situation changed after Abi Ahmed became Prime Minister in 2016. Now, Nobel Peace Prize winner Abi finds herself in the final battle against the TPLF. The Tigers’ conflict began this month. Forces loyal to the TPLF attacked the Northern Command. Several soldiers died. Since then, the battle between the army and the TPLF has begun.

At the same time, the flight of ordinary people has begun. According to the United Nations, 40,000 people have fled from Tigris to Sudan. The UN refugee agency is now trying to provide them with food and temporary shelter. This is a great challenge. Because, the flow of refugees is increasing.

The Tigris leaders, however, have stated that they will not give in to military threats. People are willing to give their lives for Tigris. The Ethiopian government will not surrender.

Prime Minister Abe said Monday that it was not possible to go back to where the conflict had gone. So don’t back down from your plan.
