Dhaka University (DU) has decided to make major changes, including increasing the number of written exams in the 2020-21 first-year admissions test, reducing the number of MCQ and upper secondary exams, and creation of departmental examination centers.

These decisions were made at a special admissions test meeting held with the deans of the university’s faculties on Tuesday (October 20) morning. It was chaired by the rector of the University Prof. Akhtaruzzaman.

According to the meeting, every time the Dhaka University admission test is 200, this time it will be 100. Although there are 60 points in the secondary and upper secondary result, it has been reduced to 20 points. And the number of MCQs has been increased from 65 to 30. Also, the number of the written test will be 50. A total of 100 points will be created for students.

University Rector Prof. ASM Maqsood Kamal said that due to Corona, the decision has been made to make the exam center divisional. In that case, I will talk to the universities in the department and take the exam through the place and interested professors.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and former Chief Information Commissioner Prof. Sadeka Halim told banglanews that, considering all aspects, including the corona epidemic, the deans have agreed that there is no alternative to the admission test. The examination will be carried out in accordance with hygiene regulations. We will focus more on the written test.
