Chittagong: Police arrested two people involved in the murder of driver Anwar in the Sagarika area below the Pahartali police station. When they were brought before the court after their arrest, they both made confessional statements.
They were arrested on Sunday (December 20) morning at the train station below the Kotwali police station and in the Abdu Para area below the Pahartali police station.
The two detainees are Akash (20) and Mithun (18). Police said they were working in the same organization with the late Anwar.
Pahartali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (CO) Hasan Imam told banglanews that two people involved in the murder of driver Anwar were arrested at the train station below the Kotwali police station and in the area from Abdu Para under the Pahartali Police Station.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) Kazi Shahabuddin Ahmed told banglanews that the two detainees were brought before Metropolitan Magistrate Sarwar Jahan’s court on Sunday afternoon.
OC Hasan Imam said in his statement that they had a fight with Anwar on December 16 for visiting Paienen. There was a dispute with Anwar over the collection of 200 rupees per person. On Saturday night (December 19), Anwar tried to talk to Ronnie, Akash, Mithun and others to solve the problem. At one point, Anwar was stabbed.
Driver Anwar was stabbed to death in the Sagarika area below the Pahartali Police Station on Saturday night.
