DHAKA: The Founder and Trustee of the Center for Public Health, Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury.
He was speaking at a blanket distribution to people affected by the cold of North Bengal in front of the Dhanmondi Public Health Center at 12 noon on Monday (December 21).
CEO of the Center for Public Health at the general distribution ceremony. Manzoor Qadir Ahmed and Public Health Press Adviser Jahangir Alam Mintu were present.
Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury said that the winter flux is increasing in the country and the temperature has dropped to 6 degrees Celsius in some places. Our call to the business community is to help the defenseless and those affected by the cold. We have made these blankets bigger. A blanket can accommodate some members of the family. These blankets were also made by poor people. The University of Public Health, the Center for Public Health, and a couple of entrepreneurs have helped us provide these blankets. We are paying particular attention to North Bengal, including Santal Palli from Gobindaganj upazila from Gaibandha district.
Referring to the cold snap in India, he said that 37 farmers died in the cold snap in India. If the Indian government gave us their approval, we would send 2000 blankets to Indian farmers. The Modi government of India is neglecting the people of their country. We need to remember the whole world. Even then, our country and our people come first to consider. That is why I seek the cooperation of everyone for the cooperation of the poor people of the country. Everyone must overcome this misery together.
Today we have a special kind of cooperation with the imams, muezzins and servants of the mosque. They talk to everyone in a mahfil waz, but they can’t ask for shame for themselves. We are providing blankets to the families of imams, moazzins and Khadems in the embankment areas of Rupnagar and Ashulia, he added.
He appealed to the imams and muezzins not to oppose the sculpture for no reason. Pray to God for the liberation and help of the poor. We will do everything possible so that no one dies in winter. We also want everyone’s cooperation.
