He also came there on Sunday to pay his respects. However, the doors of the school were kept closed. He did not open the door even though there was a security guard inside. Later, the locals spread some bricks in front of the door. Linguist Shahadat Hossain paid his respects by placing flower baskets there.
It is known that the security guard Abul Kashem was in charge of opening the door of the university. Kashem was inside the university at the time of the incident, but did not open the door to enter the Shaheed Minar. Security guard Abul Kashem stated: ‘I did not understand. Ajay Kishore Roy Chowdhury, Director of Atharbari Degree College, said: ‘I am on leave due to illness. Shahidur Rahman from the Bangla department is the committee coordinator for the National Day celebration. He was supposed to fulfill the responsibility.
In this regard, Shahidur Rahman said: ‘One of my relatives has died. So I’m in Habiganj ‘. However, he claimed that he was not given any responsibility to celebrate college day.
