A homeopathic doctor named Sanjay Shil, 50, from Batiaghata upazila in Khulna district, has been accused of raping a madrasa student after taking sleeping pills. The victim’s mother filed a case against the doctor at the police station on Sunday. The incident took place at the student’s home in the Sukhdara village of Batiaghata on Saturday afternoon. The accused doctor has been on the run since the incident.
According to the case statement, the student and her mother used to go to Sanjay Sheel, a homeopath from Gangarampur village in Upazila, for treatment. Doctors also used to come to his house from time to time. He went to the patient’s home on Saturday. The girl was found alone in her home and the doctor gave her sleeping pills during a physical examination. When the girl fainted, Sanjay raped her. When she regained consciousness, the girl began to scream. The doctor ran away when the people around him stepped forward.
Speaking with Batiaghata OC Rabiul Islam Police Station, he said the victim’s mother had filed a case on Sunday. The defendant Sanjay Sheel is on the run. An attempt is being made to arrest him. The girl will be sent to the hospital to be examined.
