Seven and a half months after the first death from coronavirus in the country, the official death toll has exceeded six thousand.
The health department said 21 more people had died from the virus in the 24 hours leading up to 8 a.m. Wednesday. The death toll has risen to 6,004 so far.

According to the Health Department, 1,910 more patients have been cured in the last day. The total number of healthy patients has risen to 3 lakh 31,798 people.
The number of people infected by coronavirus in the world has already exceeded 46.4 million, the number of deaths has reached 12.14 million households.
Bangladesh is ranked 22nd in the world in terms of the Johns Hopkins University list and 31st in terms of death toll.
According to the Department of Health, 13,914 samples have been analyzed in 114 laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 23 lakh 79 thousand 8 samples have been tested.
Considering the sample test in 24 hours, the detection rate is 10.90 percent, so far the total detection rate is 16.33 percent. Recognized, the recovery rate is 70.09 percent and the mortality rate is 1.45 percent.
Among those who have died in the last day, 18 are men and 4 are women. They all died in the hospital.
Fourteen of the dead were over 60 years old. Two were between 51 and 60 years old, four between 41 and 50 years old and one between 21 and 30 years old.
Among the dead were 12 residents of the Dhaka division, 5 residents of the Chittagong division and 4 residents of the Khulna, Barisal, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions.
Of the 6,004 people killed so far in the country, 4,621 are men and 1,373 are women.
Of the dead, 3,132 were over 60 years old. In addition, 1,563 people between 51 and 60 years old, 648 people between 41 and 50 years old, 330 people between 31 and 40 years old, 138 people between 21 and 30 years old, 48 people between 11 and 20 and 29 people I was less than 10 years old .
