The time to file income tax returns has been extended by one more month, that is, until December 31, said Abu Hena, president of the National Revenue Board (NBR). Rahmatul Munim.

The NBR president told reporters at the NBR office in Segundobagicha, the capital, on Monday afternoon.
Earlier Sunday, he had said that the time to file statements would not be extended this year. But a day later, the president of NBR said that the time had been extended.
Noting that the time for filing income tax returns has been extended for the convenience of individual taxpayers, Abu Hena said that there has been a large influx of taxpayers into the tax zones. Therefore, considering Corona’s situation, this decision has been taken in consultation with higher authorities and exercising the powers of the NBR.
He said that 5 million 62 thousand citizens in the country have a Tax Identification Number (TIN). As of Monday noon, 1.5 million of them have filed their returns.
