India’s most popular comedian, Bharti Singh, was arrested yesterday by the country’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Her husband Harsh Limbachia was also arrested after a 15-hour questioning on Saturday (November 21).
The writer, producer and television personality were taken into police custody Sunday morning on charges of purchasing and using cannabis.
NCB of Mumbai claims that both confessed to using cannabis during questioning.
Many feel that the accusations against him have matured.
Previously, a large quantity of illicit drugs was recovered from his apartment and two houses. All in all, if proven in court, they could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine. 
The NCB raided his apartment in Mumbai on November 21. From there 6.5 grams of marijuana were recovered. They were immediately arrested and taken to the NCB office. Bharati was arrested the same day. However, the team couldn’t easily bag Harsh. Later, the Indian drug lord confessed to them.
It is worth mentioning that several organizations, including NCB, are working on the case of the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Initially, it was investigated for murder, but then it became the largest anti-drug campaign in history. Deepika Padukone and her manager Dia Mirza, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Sara Ali Khan are some of the Bollywood celebrities. It is known that there are many more celebrities on the interrogation list.
