It has been reported that a young woman was raped while visiting a relative’s home in Chittagong.
The incident took place at Supariwala Para in Agrabad on Sunday evening.
Two people have been arrested for collaborating in the incident.
However, the main accused is a fugitive. Police said they were trying to arrest him.
The Double Mooring SI Nurul Islam Police Station told Jugantar that the victim came from Feni to visit her uncle’s home in Agrabad, Chittagong. A friend of her cousin’s took the girl to her home in Supariwala Para around 8pm yesterday. Chandu Mia lives next door. At one point, Chandu Mia took the girl home and raped her.
He said two people were arrested in the area Monday morning on charges of assisting in the incident. They are Nuri Akhter and her husband Mohammad Antar.
IS Nurul Islam said that Chandu Mia has been on the run since the incident. An attempt is being made to arrest her.
The girl was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital overnight. She said the case would be closed after receiving the medical report.
