Khulna: The bullet fired by Sheikh Yusuf Ali, a contractor in Khulna, was a three point pistol, not three. Lamia, a sixth grader, was shot in the leg by a contractor targeting extortionists.
He was shot at around 11 a.m. on Friday (August 28), but he remained trapped in Lamia’s left thigh until 4 p.m. on Saturday (August 29). Although 29 hours have passed, the Lamia school has not yet been operated. Lamia groans in pain in bed number 22 in ward 11-12 on the third floor of Khulna Medical College Hospital (Khumek).
The extortionists came to the home of Sheikh Yusuf Ali, a street contractor next to the Arafat Jame Mosque in Mistripara, Khulna, to collect the required money. At one point in the altercation with the contractor, Yusuf fired his legitimate pistol at the extortionists. The contractor’s shots at the extortionists missed their target and struck Lamia in the leg. The incident took place around 11 a.m. on Friday. He was immediately rescued and taken to Khumek Hospital.

Police say the contractor’s shots hit the schoolgirl’s left leg. Lamia’s relatives say the same.
Along with Lamia in the hospital bed, Masah’s relatives are trying to calm down and ease the pain. Doctors also visited Lamia several times in the morning.
Lamia’s neighbor, Mama Tariqul Islam, said that although Lamia had placed importance on the surgery before, her family had yet to make a decision on the case. The contractor Yusuf Ali visited Lamia at the hospital and promised to pay for her treatment.
Lamia’s grandfather, Habibur Rahman, told banglanews that Lamia’s father left them when she was one year old. From then on, Lamia’s mother worked as a servant in someone else’s home. The helpless girl groans in pain after being the victim of an accident. I don’t know when the bullet will come out of the leg.
Milton Mallick, a registrar at Khumek Hospital, told banglanews that the bullet was stuck in the thigh of Lamia’s left leg. There was also a fracture. For this reason, surgery will not be performed. The matter has been reported to the Department of Orthopedics. The Department of Surgery and Orthopedics will form a joint medical team and make the following decision.
Vice President of Khumek Hospital. Mehdi Newaz told banglanews that the place where Lamia was shot is very sensitive. There are many blood vessels there. For which a 3D computed tomography and an ultrasound have been performed. Once the report is received, it will be understood whether the operation can be carried out or not.
Meanwhile, Yusuf Ali, a known contractor who shot Lamia, said he obtained a pistol license in 1999 on the recommendation of an influential minister at the time. He bought a pistol in late 2000. At 11:30 am on Friday, four young men threatened him with a pistol and demanded Rs 5 lakhs for a contract job. He chased them with a pistol. The pistol had three rounds of ammunition at the time. He fired two rounds.
The contractor claimed that four young men who came to him also shot him while he was fleeing. Their bullets pierced Lamia’s left leg.
Locals say Lamia’s murder is shrouded in mystery. Yusuf Ali has yet to reveal who demanded the contract work and why. He took the extortionists home and let them sit, but he didn’t know them. It is incredible that I have filed a lawsuit on behalf of anonymous people.
Some locals complain that well-known and influential people of the contractor came to their home. Due to which he is hiding his identity.
Said the Metropolitan Police of Khulna DC (South). Shakiluzzaman told banglanews that Yusuf Ali’s gun was licensed. However, the schoolgirl Lamia was injured not by the shots of others, but by her own shots.

No arrests have been made so far. The pistol used in the incident, 10 unused rounds of ammunition and two rounds of cartridges were seized.
