A National Citizens Committee has been formed to pay its last respects to the Commander of the CR Dutt Sector of the War of Liberation.

The 1001-member committee has been formed with former army chief, Major General (retired) KM Shafiullah, one of the liberation war sector commanders, as convener and eminent journalist-intellectual Shahriar Kabir as member secretary.

According to the committee, CR Dutt’s body will be brought into the country from Florida, US By bringing him into the country, the necessary preparations for his funeral are being made with the highest military honors and due state honors.

This information was released by the organization on Saturday (August 29).

Their eldest daughter Mahua Dutt, their son Chiranjeev Dutt and their youngest daughter Kavita Dasgupta are said to be traveling to the United States to attend the funeral with Qatar Airlines and Canadian expatriate daughter Mejna Chayanika Dutt and her husband Rani Prentice with Emirates Airlines on 31 August (Monday). Bangladesh will arrive in Dhaka at 9am.

It is further said that efforts are being made to take the body with the family. However, if that is not possible, Emirates Airlines plans to arrive at Dhaka Airport on September 1 (Tuesday) at 8:30 AM. M.

CR Dutt died at 11:30 pm local time on Monday (August 24) while in treatment in the hospice unit of Bethesda South Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida, USA.
