Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said that the prime minister will inaugurate the freight train operation on the Chilahati-Haldibari route on December 16. He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has revived the railways. The process of train circulation in India has started through the Darshana, Benapole, Rahmanpur, Biral and Radhikapur routes.

He made the remarks while addressing a preparatory meeting for the inaugural function of the international route in the conference room of the Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner’s Office here at noon Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury chaired the preparatory meeting.

The Minister of Railways said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Bangabandhu Railway Bridge on November 29 alongside the Bangabandhu Bridge over the Jamuna River. It will be open to traffic before August 2024. This will expand rail services and make it easier for ordinary people to travel by train. Trains will be able to pass through this bridge at a speed of 100 km / h on the gauge line and 120 km / h on the gauge line.

The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the Chilahati-Haldibari route on December 16 at 11:30 am. In addition, passenger trains will begin to run on the same route on March 26 of next year.
