Central Chhatra Dal leaders did not attend the BNP rally held in front of the Taltola market in Khilgaon on Wednesday. The rally was organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP.
According to the sources, the central president and the general secretary of Chhatra Dal were not informed about the rally and no leaders of the central BNP or Mahanagar joined the rally. Many central BNP leaders have expressed anger over the issue.
The president along with several central leaders of the student party said that the president and the general secretary were summoned to attend the rally. They told us they weren’t informed about it.
However, Chhatra Dal Central President Fazlur Rahman Khokon told Jugantar that he could not go on the day of the rally because there was another program in Gulshan’s office.
A metropolitan BNP leader said central Chhatra Dal leaders did not do the right thing without attending the rally. Leaders and workers from different Chhatra Dal units were present there. The assembly was predetermined. It is not necessary to officially call the president and general secretary of Chhatra Dal. We have also received reports that many leaders have been banned from attending the rallies, which is by no means desirable.
