He was speaking at a rally at the National Press Club on Friday (November 13) demanding the unconditional release of Ruhul Amin Gazi, president of the Bangladesh Union of Journalists (BFUJ).

On Thursday (November 12) in different areas of the capital, Dr. raised the issue of the bus fire. Jafrullah Chowdhury said: “The incident of burning the bus happened yesterday. The secret is that after the US presidential election, Joe Biden called everyone and exchanged greetings. But the current government has never called Sheikh Hasina. So the bus was burned yesterday to get his attention.

He said: ‘The government’s greatest friend is the journalist. They highlight all the information. Today there (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) has made the biggest mistake. The more journalists can speak, the more information intelligence agencies will obtain.

He added: “The recent riots and the burning of houses cannot happen in a democratic country.” Some minority leaders have vilified the scholars. It must be examined by the government.

Jafrullah Chowdhury, founder of the Center for Public Health, said: “Today’s negotiators say that democracy in Bangladesh has been buried. To get rid of it, democracy must be raised from the grave. We all have to go outside together. This day of government will not last forever.

Former BNP education minister Ehsanul Haque Milon, Alamgir Mohammad Mohiuddin, M. Abdullah, poet Abdul Hai Sikder, Narul Alam Rokon, Kamal Uddin Sabuj and others spoke.
